About Us

Roch Carrier French Immersion Public School was opened as Huron Park Public School in 1953.  In 1969, the name was changed to Hillcrest Public School, to avoid confusion with neighbouring Huron Park Secondary School. Currently, the building is now called Roch Carrier and is a French Immersion School. Roch Carrier was chosen as our school name in recognition of the influence of the impact of his story "The Hockey Sweater".

The single-story facility houses students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 in twelve interior classrooms and eight portable classrooms.  A before and after school care service is available at the school through Good Beginnings Daycare.

Our school will be running on a balanced day schedule as of Sept 2020 with our start time as 9:00 am and dismissal time at 3:30 pm.  Our first nutritional break will be at 10:40-11:20am, and the second will be at 1:00-1:50pm.

During the school year, the principal, Mme A. Maddox, and the school secretary, Mme S. Charlton, can be reached at 519-537-7321. The school fax number is 519-537-7729.
